As we draw to a close for the year we celebrate together with our friends and family a successful recovery. The flood that washed away our dreams also gave rise to our new vision for our business and community.
Community Days this year brought us closer to our community members and restored our love for our small town. With donations from many sources and a connection with a local food pantry we have managed to serve our community. Providing food, clothes, hard goods, and toys for children this year has brought our community together again.
Our custom artwork this year showcased the community of Garrett with images inspired from old photographs. Showing the changes that have come and are to come.
The closing of our local grocery store that has served our community for over 100 years marks an end of an era. Campbell's Grocery has been a beloved stop for many of our local community members. It marks the beginning of a new area for our small community.
What is coming to Garrett in 2025? Community Gardens sponsored by the Garrett Beautification Project in conjunction with Hanekamp Manor Bikes & Books, DNH Consulting LLC and Grow Appalachia. Together with our community members we have made plans to bring organic gardening to the FEMA purchased land that the county has been given for green space use.
Food insecurity is a growing concern in many areas and with the plans for raised gardens in 2025 hope for a new solution to those struggles is coming.
Hanekamp Manor Bikes & Books has ended this year with the largest donation to date. Having given out sixty bicycles as well as over 190 toys this year we are excited to see what's to come next year. Thank you to our faithful customers who have made possible our community outreach efforts. When in our area stop in and see what we have to offer! Looking forward to seeing you in the New Year.
